Missionaries: Zoe, Ghen and Life Guaza MINISTRY UPDATES
We would like to thank the Lord that KYDC is fulfilling its mission, vision and goals. Last august, 17 students graduated in High School. These were the pioneer graduates of KYDC. Of these 17 students, 14 of them passed the National College Entrance examinations. With the help of the Association and missionary friends, four of these less privilege yet deserving students are now enrolled in prime universities in Phnom Penh something that not even these four students ever hope would be possible. Some of these students are also helping some churches in Takeo province right now. In the years to come, we are envisioning that more students will have the chance to go to universities and be mobilized to start campus ministries. Ghen and I are discipling a new batch of Grade 12 students. These students committed themselves to become role models in the school, their family and their communities. We are equipping them right now to become able ministers of the Lord to their own fellow students. In time, these students will have their own cell groups in the school. While 17 students left KYDC this year, this month we are at the process of choosing 26 new Grade 10 students to stay at the dorm. All these will be another opportunity for us to share God’s love for these people. These lives will too become future ministers and leaders in their own field.
This quarter, we were able to build 2 new village preschools. But the beauty of these preschool is that they are not just preschools but they also serve as a church for our Christian brothers in the village. We hope to open more preschools in more villages knowing that the role that these preschools are playing in the community have been very significant in opening doors for the gospel to be preached to the children, their parents and the community at large.
Our commitment as organization is not only to preach the gospel to the spirit but to fully preach the gospel to the “whole man” – body, soul and spirit. This is the very reason why the agriculture project was started. It is very sad to know that most Cambodians die of poor health. Infant mortality is very high and this can be attributed to malnutrition and water-borne diseases. It is in light of this dilemma that we committed ourselves to also equip the church in providing for their livelihood. Today, we have stepped a little farther by starting development projects to the whole community. So far, we have been involved in three villages for these past three years. This project has been very effective in showing and manifesting Christ’s tangible and undying love for these people. PRAYER ITEMS 1. Please continue to pray for me and Ghen as we minister to our Cambodian brethren. Pray that God will open their hearts and that they will be open for correction. 2. Pray that God will give us the wisdom to develop the organization until such a time that we can see a functioning system. 3. Pray that the staff will continue to seek and understand more of God’s holiness and righteousness. 4. Pray for our village ministry that through the English classes many will come to know Christ. 5. Pray for our health. Pray especially for Ghen that God will just sustain her throughout this pregnancy. Pray for her protection and our child’s protection too. 6. We ask you to also pray for our financial needs. Ghen’s pregnancy I know will cost us much. Pray that God will provide all our financial needs and that we would be prepared in time for her due date. 7. Pray that God will prepare the hearts of the new students (and their parents) for the gospel. Pray that God will enlighten their hearts. 8. Pray for wisdom as I choose new staff for the organization. Pray that I will be discerning enough to know the real heart of these people. 9. Pray that God will open new doors for us to open new cell groups in remote villages. 10. Pray for the proposed Computer and English center in KYDC. We are raising $30,000 for this project.
Thank you so much for supporting the work in
